North Annapurna Base Camp (ABC) Trek
Trip Overview:
The North Annapurna Base Camp (North ABC) trek is a relatively new and less crowded Himalayan route in western Nepal. Unlike the classic southern Annapurna Base Camp trek, this trek approaches the first base camp of Annapurna I from the north, revealing its vast glacial face and remote, untouched landscapes. This is also a medium-classic hiking route. It can also be completed as a three-night, four-day trip. But in our itinerary, we create special, romantic, very different experiences, because first you will visit the sunrise view from Pun Hill and another beautiful sunrise/sunset view from Mulde viewpoint. Then another Kopra-Dada scene.
Plus, you'll get the chance to experience and explore the natural hot springs in Tatopani. You can experience the natural hot springs before or after the hike; We spent two nights in Tatopani. From Tatopani to Humkhola, about 12 kilometers, we ride a jeep. And our journey begins and ends at Tatopani and finished our trip. City transportation all will be provided.
Trek Highlight:
Poon Hill (3,210 m): A classic viewpoint offering 360° views of Annapurna I (8,091 m), Dhaulagiri (8,167 m), Machhapuchhre (6,993 m) and the Nilgiri ranges, best seen at sunrise when the peaks are golden.
Mulde Viewpoint (3,637 meters)
Even quieter and higher than Poon Hill - often described as the best hidden viewpoint in the Annapurna region - with dramatic close-ups of Annapurna South, Hiunchuli, Machhapuchhre and Dhaulagiri.
North ABC Key Highlights:
Phutphute Jharana: A multi-tiered waterfall early in the route.
Panchkund Lake: The sacred site of "Panch Pokhari" which offers a mirror-like reflection of the snowy peaks.
Sky Caves: Ancient limestone formations on the way to the center.
Annapurna North View: A striking wall of ice and rock—the same face first climbed in 1950 by a French expedition led by Maurice Herzog.
Natural hot springs: in Tatopani: a great finale for tired feet.
